The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved updated COVID-19 vaccines from Moderna, Novavax-Sanofi and Pfizer-BioNTech. All three vaccines are designed to prevent severe disease caused by the dominant strain, the JN.1 lineage XFG subvariant.
