About this site

"There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it."  — Edith Wharton

There are so many people who are doing so much to make things better in our country and our world.

You can make things better too.

I'm building this site to highlight the things I want to share with my friends about all the good things people are doing - and some of the things we can do to make things better for ourselves, our families and friends, and our neighbors.

On every block in every town, people are taking time to protect their parks, support their schools, and build their communities in thousands of ways.

You can help. Light a candle. Spread the light.

New here?

Does one of these describe you?

  • I'm scared and freaked out by everything going on.
  • I've never really paid attention to politics but I think maybe I should start.
  • I'm ready to start making calls NOW.
  • I'm doing what I can but I could really use some encouraging news.
  • I just want to know what this site is.

Find answers and encouragement on my Welcome page.

You can make a difference.

It's okay to start small.

Action is the antidote to fear and despair.

Even doing small things - learning more about how we can strengthen our democracy, sharing what you know with others, making a phone call - can make a difference.

Right now is a great time to take action.
