Say thank you
Resistance is Everywhere
Elected officials hear a lot of demands (rightly so - that's how we let them know what policies we want them to support). They also hear a lot of complaints.
They don't hear a lot of thanks from their constituents.
You can influence your representatives and the policies they enact by saying thank you when they do something you support.
And remember - your public officials are people, too. Most of us like a little recognition when we've done a good job - so when your officials do something to strengthen your community, saying thank you can send a powerful message of support.
